The Giggle Factory is part of Drama Club's outreach activities. Any Drama Club or Tech Crew member may participate. Giggle Factory is a touring troupe that will perform wherever there are children. Two types of performance opportunities are available to high school students as part of this activity: participation in the silent clown troupe or participation in playlets. As a member of the silent clown troupe, students develop their clown personnae and learn a number of routines. As a member of the playlet casts, students present short plays and/or skits that appeal to children such as Stone Soup or The Emperor's New Clothes or other children's favorites. These touring performances are made available to the public free of charge; however, a donation is suggested. The money raised by The Giggle Factory funds its supplies and costumes and an annual scholarship awards to a Davidson senior pursuing theatre arts on a collegiate level.
Giggle Factory will perform at a variety of children's functions - anything from birthday parties to mall openings. To schedule the Giggle Factory, contact either Mr. Trace Crawford or Mr. Greg Kembitzky at Hilliard Davidson High School, ph. 614.771.2299. Although there is no set fee for Giggle Factory performances, an appropriate donation is requested.
