Roy Bobbitt, Dana Brawley, Greg Kembitzky, Jill and Tim Reed, Beth and Mike Tosko, Diana Vance, Pam Van Horn, Marion Zambrotta, Jeff Meyers Sr., President presiding.

Minutes from the Sept. 12, 2005 meeting were read and approved.

The Hobbit, Oct. 8 and 9 at 2 pm.
Concessions Ð B. Tosko has shiny curtain rings to be strung on cords and sold for $1 each.  Also, two sorcererÕs hats (made by J. Reed) and plaques (by Ed Evans) will be raffled.  Audience members can have their pictures taken for $1 on the set with cast members after the show (B. Schaeffer).

Musical Comedy Murders of 1940
Nov. 11 and 12 at 8 pm.
The cast of 10 has been selected, with a large turnout of 50 or so students auditioning for the parts.  The slap-stick farce done in period costumes will have an intermission.  An in-school performance will be on Fri., Nov. 11.  A baby grand piano will be required, and a lot of books and bookcases.
Director T. Crawford has 4 production assistants.
Creative Writing Contest for students of all three Hilliard Middle Schools.

Thespian Conference
hosted by HDvHS, Oct.22 (Sat.)
Leadership workshops, College auditions/workshops.  Auditions (actors, tech. and musicians) for the March 2006 All Ohio Musical Violet.  Middle school Thespians will also be there. Registration at 8:30 am and ending about 3:30 pm.  A pizza lunch will be provided by the Ohio Educational Theatre Association.  Last year about 17 schools participated. M. Zambrotta will prepare a sponsors hospitality area (refreshments for chaperones and college reps.) J. and T. Reed have agreed to set up a concession stand with snacks.

Field Trip, The Merchant of Venice
Oct. 20 to Otterbein College
D. Vance and T. Crawford are asking for parent volunteers for this school day trip, which will be on a Thurs. from 9:15am to 1:30pm.  An adult chaperone for each of 5 buses is required.  9th and 10th-grade Honors English and theatre class students are going.

School District Volunteers
Parent volunteers in Hilliard Schools are reminded that they will now need to go through a criminal background check (cost is $9) like all district employees.  They can do this at the School District offices weekdays 9-11am or 1-3pm (or by appt. at other times.) They will be issued a photo ID.

Trick-or-Treat so Kids Can Eat
Oct. 31 (Mon)
Drama students from both Davidson and Darby will ask neighbors for non-perishable goods for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.  As a thank-you for donations, theyÕll give out coupons for the schoolsÕ Nov. shows, Snow White and MCM of 1940.  At 7:30 pm, theyÕll bring the donations to Darby HS and also have a party. This food drive is sponsored by the International Thespian Society, and last year over 250 Thespian Troupes from 36 states participated.

Central Ohio Area Conference
Dec. 3 (Sat)
$10 to register (incl. lunch).  There will be the cost of bus rental as well.  Usu. has around 400 students attending.  Held at Westerville Central HS.  A play will be presented that was written from studentsÕ experiences at a NYC high school close to the World Trade Center site.  Parents are welcome to attend; please contact D. Vance beforehand.

Drama Camp
Dec. 21 and 22 (Wed. and Thurs.)
Usu. about $4000 is raised by this popular program for children grades K-5.

State Thespian Conference
Mar. 3-5
will be held at Ashland University.

Dec. 5, Jan. 9, Feb. 6, Mar. 6, Apr. 3, May 8, and June 5 (typically first Monday of each month) are the scheduled meetings for the rest of 2005-06.
